So Mondays are always busy. I wish I didn't have to work outside the farm but we are not big enough to be able to support the income I make especially as we don't always get paid by the farm.
I work 52.6miles from home yes I have measured it!! Takes about an hour each way, unless there is snow or roadworks and the rule of thumb appears to be if there is no snow there is roadworks so then it takes 75 - 85 mins as long as I avoid the school buses.
I work for a company who sells organizations systems, in customer service answering phones and emails, entering orders, and designing closets. I love the company but don't always find my job the most challeging. I used to work in finance and I miss the way my brain was challenged.
But as I live in a rural area and even the closest city doesn't have the type of roles I used to do, without starting from the bottom again. I really was originally hoping to become a business analyst before I met my husband. Yet I digress.
Mondays are exceptionally busy at work, on the go from that and I love to coupon and the best day to get the bargains at Walgreens is Monday, I am not a shelf clearer I usually will stock up from 1-4 on free items. However apparently not everyone else feels the same. I use to go Wednesdays but by then NO chance of the good stuff.
Mondays are also the day our friends daughter comes to the farm. She spends the first hour with John milking (she really gets into it) and then she used to sepnd the next 2 1/2 hours with me, usually an hour and a half in the garden and an hour in the kitchen making dinner or canning.
But now working I leave usually by 6:30-6:45am and don't get home till 6pm at the earliest. So Belle spends an hour with Eva (John's mum) feeding the calves and generally being treated like a princess.
Then she comes back to me, now the snow has melted we are planting, onions, peas and rhubarb so far. Aspargus, peas and parsnips next.
For me it goes, desperately try to get out of work by 5pm 5:15 at the latest to get home by 6, change eat a quick something before Belle gets back from across the driveway, start dinner, go to the garden, planting weeding etc.
Back to the house finish preparing dinner (bake cake or cookies) sometimes feed Belle and her family, shower, change the laundry over, eat if I haven't already, (sometimes fit in a webinar), dry my hair, clean up, prepare for the next day and then collapse in front of the TV with John who is already snoozing and wake up at midnight not knowing where the last 1 3/4 hours have gone.
Anyone else know this life? And this is before kids.
